Me? India? YES, PLEASE!!!....

Our Lord absolutely amazes me! Let me tell you a little of how He has so wonderfully blessed me and lead me to this next season of my life which will take place in India…

Even at a young age my life started out with adventure! My parents were called to the mission field when I was 9 years old. So for the next five years of my life, my two older brothers and I lived in Central America learning to live and love the simple things in life. Since then, my heart was completely ruined for other countries, and I would never again feel at home being in the United States. I have taken several trips to other countries including Russia, Africa, and Cambodia. Each has left imprints on my mind, calling me back again.

I had planned on moving to Colorado this summer, and longed to spend some time in another country while I had a break between leaving one job and beginning another. It had only been one week since I asked the Lord to open up a door to allow this to happen when I had gotten together with Kelsey. The moment she mentioned India, my heart and brain and mouth said “I want to go too!!” So I am not sure if I was technically invited or if I pushed my way in, but she said ‘okay’ and I had no desire to let this opportunity go. After all, I would be going with two of my closest friends from nursing school. And in my mind, the Lord has never said ‘stay,’ He always says ‘go.’ Mark 16:15 “And He said unto them, GO ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” After taking this to the Lord in prayer, He gave me the official OK and my heart sang knowing that what He plans will always work out J He is faithful!

India has always been a country that I have longed to go to, so I could not be more excited at the opportunity to work over there with two ladies who have a heart that seeks after the Lord and long to simply serve despite what everyone else and society may say. Yes, I am leaving one job, coming back to no job, and have financial obligations to meet, but I know my Lord is BIGGER than all of these things and will provide as He always has in my past. He promises to be our Provider and Father, and I trust with all my heart that we will see Him work miraculous things during these next few months! “If the Omnipotent is working on our behalf, no lesser power can defeat His program.” (John MacDonald)
