World Vision India :World Vision is one of the largest relief and developmental organizations in the world. World Vision India is one branch of the organization working specifically in India working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty and injustice.
Milk & Honey : A non-profit organization started by an old friend to help raise awareness of sex trafficking in India. Check it out, they have some pretty awesome shirts! Go buy one, proceeds to to Courage Homes.
Aashra Foundation :A non-profit, non-religious organization that believes in: Food is for surviving, shelter is for living, cloth is for respecting, education is for learning, health is for enjoying, money is for helping, love is for giving and life is for sacrificing. They have lots of awesome projects going on through out India.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation: This foundation understands that children can no concentrate in school when their stomachs are empty. They believe that no child should be deprived of education because of hunger. They have 16 kitchens through out India where they cook daily meals to help enable hunger free education for 1.3 million children in India. (Thinking we might have to add this to our itinerary!)
Anusaran: A non-profit organization that strives to educate and empower the disadvantaged women and children of India. They sponsor children's non-formal education programs, women empowerment programs and a community health program. Help support and empower the women by purchasing a hand made gift here.
